CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER STARTING SALARY:

  • (Depending on Verified Years of Service) 2-20 years >> $101,212.80 -$120,473.60
  • You can live ANYWHERE in the State of Illinois!!! NO residency mileage limits!

TUITION: Tuition waived for all employees to ANY public Illinois institution.

  • After 7 years of service, all dependents are eligible for a 50% tuition waiver to ANY public Illinois institution.

VACATION TIME ACCRUALS:

  • Twelve Vacation Days a year to start.
  • Increased accrual increments every three years up to Twenty-Five Vacation Days a year. 
  • Maximum bankable and pensionable vacation time is 400 hours.

  • DOUBLE TIME AND A HALF FOR ALL STATE UNIVERSITY HOLIDAYS WORKED!

SICK LEAVE:

  • Civil Service employees accrue sick leave without limit at the rate of 3.7 hours 
  • Each pay period (approximately 12 days per year for full-time status).
  • Sick time can be rolled over.
