SEARCH ANNOUNCEMENT CHIEF OF POLICE DELAVAN, WISCONSIN

The City of Delavan Wisconsin is seeking a Chief of Police to replace our retiring Chief. The Chief is the senior law enforcement officer in the city and responsible for managing the Delavan Police Department. The salary range for this position is $124,000 to $131,000 depending on qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. A competitive municipal benefit package is also offered. The Police and Fire Commission of the city is the hiring body and is seeking applicants for the position. Internal and external applications will be accepted from September 15th, 2026, through October 14th, 2026. Applications will be reviewed by the Commission October 22nd, 2026, and finalists will be notified prior to November. The selection process will include extensive interviews, evaluation of a candidate white paper reviewing the department’s performance and organization, appropriate background checks, and reference reviews. The selection process is scheduled to be completed in November 2026 with a candidate selection. Employment will begin January 4, 2027.
